ESPN Mobile Calls it Quits
As expected, game over for much-hyped ESPN phone and service.
ESPN pulls plug on cell phone operation
Many analysts are skeptical whether it’s a business model that can succeed for the vast majority of these ventures given the marketing muscle of the national players. That a brand as popular and well-funded as ESPN couldn’t make it work adds to that doubt, particularly since Mobile ESPN developed a uniquely sophisticated mobile service compared with the content offered on regular cell phones.
The ESPN phone already uses Sprint’s network, as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), they could easily move some of ESPN’s content as an add-on much like the NFL content currently on Sprint.
Mark Cuban: Only a ‘moron’ would buy YouTube
NBA’s Dallas Mavericks owner and one-time dot-comer Mark Cuban is waiting for YouTube to get sued. I agree.
Only a ‘moron’ would buy YouTube
“They are just breaking the law,” Cuban told a group of advertisers in New York. “The only reason it hasn’t been sued yet is because there is nobody with big money to sue.”
However, the one thing YouTube has proved is web users want video content. The main reason YouTube is so popular is due to the trouble-free way of viewing and sharing video. Content producers, take note.
Live NFL Games on the Internet
The National Football League will stream a full season of live games over the Internet to gridiron fans outside of North America. This is long over due move. Now, how long will it take for the NFL to stream the games in the US?This is a good move.
The National Football League and Yahoo!, today announced an agreement that will enable football fans around the world to watch live NFL games on the Internet. NFL Game Pass, powered by Yahoo! Sports, will allow football fans outside of North America to watch nearly every NFL game live and in its entirety on www.nfl.com/nflgamepass beginning this Sunday.
